My Wine Review & Notes:
I got the Estezargues Cuvée des Galets Côtes du Rhône (try saying that five times fast) in a glass from The Prince, a popular and somewhat famous restaurant in Koreatown, LA, where a lot of films and TV have apparently been shot.
This complicated name simply means a blend of the pebbles from Estezargues (a town in France), on the coast of the Rhône.
I enjoyed the flavor quite a bit–it was colorful, some vague but fruity notes, and a good buzz to it–medium to medium-full body.
I didn’t enjoy it as much as I’d hoped, though. Perhaps my expectations were too high at The Prince. It was a good wine, but it wasn’t great, it wasn’t refined in the way I was hoping.
I was a little bit distracted during this dinner, though, so it could’ve been me–this wine wouldn’t be at the top of my list, but I’d certainly try it again someday.
