Sémillon

Sémillon is a golden-skinned white grape with deep roots in France, particularly Bordeaux, where it is often blended with Sauvignon Blanc for dry whites and used to craft the luscious, sweet wines of Sauternes. Known for its rich texture and ability to age gracefully, Sémillon is also celebrated in Australia’s Hunter Valley, where it shines in a unique, lean, and citrus-driven style. Though less widely planted than other white grapes, it has a loyal following for its complexity and versatility.

In its youth, Sémillon often shows flavors of lemon, apple, and fig, with a soft, rounded mouthfeel. With age, it develops layers of honey, nuts, and toast, making it a fascinating choice for collectors. Whether enjoyed as a refreshing young white, a golden dessert wine, or an aged marvel, Sémillon offers something unique for every palate.
